RPI helps Hornbeck Offshore integrate with JPMorgan Chase for P-Card Integration
Golden Meadow, LA - April 2011 - Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. recently selected JPMorgan Chase as a P-Card provider to administer a Purchasing Card program within their organization. The intent of this P-Card program is two-fold: First, to accommodate specific purchasing activities by authorized employees and contractors, or “P-Cards as a mode of Purchase.” Second, to implement “P-Cards as a mode of Payment,” whereby Hornbeck sends electronic payment/remittance files to the JPMorganChase system for Lawson AP payments, and the vendors are paid via Single User Account (SUA) Payments. The combination of these programs will: (1) alleviate the administrative burden on purchasing and AP for “one-off” purchases, such as employees at port purchasing groceries or other transactions not processed through AP; (2) maximize the P-Card rebate from JPMorgan Chase, as each dollar spent on either program qualifies for a rebate; and (3) accelerate payments to enrolled vendors while taking advantage of cash on hand via the “float” inherent to the SUA Payment programs.
RPI was engaged to assist with the Lawson application design, configuration, testing and training related to the P-Card deployment. In addition, RPI built custom integration tools to map Lawson output to bank format, and vice versa. Says Boyd Kitchen, Hornbeck’s Project Lead: “RPI was instrumental in helping us leverage technology and Lawson enabled best practices to optimize the process of administering this P-Card program. They were easy to work with, communicated well within our organization and led us to an effective system configuration that meets our business objectives.”
